Treasure for short story lovers: over 300 pages and 26 diverse stories. This annual series comes from University of London's Birkbeck College (previously The Mechanics' Institute), and features stuff mainly from their creative writing course students and alumni, but also guest contributors. A real mix of tone, style and setting (China, Africa, Cuba, Bavaria, America, India to name a few), and subjects such as circumcision, quantum suicide and being Welsh. A treat. I am incredibly biased because one of my stories is included (as a guest author).
