A Christmas Kiss Reviews
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads. I wanted to like this story more than I did. Things that didn't work for me: Addressing Clara as "Miss Dickens". She's a vet. I'm not sure how people in other areas address their vet, but in my area we address them as "Dr." When she was addressed as "Dr." it was spelled out, as in "Doctor Dickens".What did work for me: The sweet nature of both of the characters, of trying to find love, and of not wanting to be hurt again.Over all, I felt this story needed more. More passion and communication between the Asher and Clara and the plot point that I would bring them together just faded into the background.~~Wicked Reads Review Team~~
NaughtyLet's start with the likes - I do like the characters... all of them. The interaction was formal at first, but warmed up and became more genuine.I liked that Clara and Asher felt that reserve, that tension that those in love feel even if they don't know they feel it.I like the small town feel of the story and that fact that it wasn't overcrowded with unneeded stuff. What I would have liked:I would have liked the transition between Clara and Asher to have been more impactful. In many aspects, they were both feeling and even thinking the same things, but... and here's were I differ from Ms. Lea, they are not just different people, but men and women view those feelings differently. It seemed to flow from one to the other too easily. I would like to have seen more intimacy between Clara and Asher. Perhaps a sequel? Overall - I enjoyed the story. It was a satisfying read and I would certainly read more from Ms. Lea
I like the idea of the story and thought the characters are great. I gave this story three stars because to me it needs something more. I feel that these two are always dancing around one another. I wanted more heat between the two of them, especially since they have such a strong attraction to one another. Overall, A Christmas Kiss is a romantic holiday read.Full Review: http://thetbrpile.weebly.com/reviews/...
