I quibble with the drawing of the elephant feet (toes strangely overemphasized), but 99% of the art is excellent, and between the art and the accompanying text about the animals, this could be adapted from baby storytime (skip most of the text) to preschool storytime (kids will likely enjoy learning about the animals). The pages are sturdy, board book style, and it would also be a great lap/bedtime story.

(Board Book)"So Many Feet" by Nichole Mara, illustrated by Alexander Vidal (2017) offers a fun story for pre-school kiddos who are ready to move! Illustrations feature large animals in vivid colors to catch and hold attention. The real star of this book is its comparison of different animal feet, with phrases such as "dancing feet, slow feet, scratchy feet or thumping feet" that invite listeners to literally move their feet. Imagine a room full of 2 and 4 year olds anxiously waiting for the page to turn so they can hear how they will move their feet next! Perhaps a bit too long for babies and some toddlers, the wording could easily be modified to move a bit faster to accommodate a younger audience. As it is, the language is descriptive, such as "Jumping Feet: A kangaroo's long, strong feet are just right for jumping." Children will enjoy using a variety of "animal feet" as they transform themselves into geckos, bats, elephants, ostriches and more!

Mara, Nichole So Many Feet Illustrated by Alexander Vidal Harry Abrams, 2017. BOARD BOOK $12.95 Content: G. This adorable board book concentrates on animals feet and what they do with them. There are sloths who hang from their claws, kangaroo who jump on their feet and blue footed boobies who do a dance. Sixteen different animals are shown throughout with one sentence that describes why their feet are special to that animal. The illustrations are adorable with bright colors and clean lines. The last page asks the reader what they can do with their feet. This is a fun and attractive book for young kids and my early reader enjoyed the information even though it is a board book. PREK – ESSENTIAL. Reviewer, C. Peterson.https://kissthebook.blogspot.com/2017...

This is sure to be enjoyed by young animal fans. The bright illustrations are a thing of beauty and the pages offer a wide range of interesting animals and facts about their feet. Our favorite page was the last one that asks "What can you feet go" and encourages comparison with the many animals you've explored in the book. I found it curious that this was offered as a board book. To me it felt long to share with kids under 3 and yet might be missed by older kids who feel too big for the board book section. Regardless, for a true animal enthusiast this would be an interesting book to share.

So Many Feet is wonderful story that teaches children about diversity in a fun and engaging way. Each page introduces young readers to a different animal and their unique feet. Children will meet animals such as sloths with hanging feet, a mole and it's dirty feet, chicken and their scratchy feet along with many others. I found the colorfully detailed illustrations to be captivating and the story to be well written and perfectly suited for the intended age group.I highly recommend picking up copy.

Fantastic board book! I love introducing kids to science concepts at an early age and this book is all about different kinds of animals (including many that get overlooked by basic animal books - sloths and moles and blue-footed boobies, oh my!) and their adaptations that turn their feet into specialized tools. The vocabulary is great and the illustrations are lovely with enough detail in each picture to make a fun find-and-seek game with your kids.

A look at the feet of many different animals shows how widely different animals and habitats are. A touch of information is shared for each animal, just enough for the youngest scientist. The illustrations are bright and bold, embracing the colors and feeling of each habitat and showing the animal using their feet to explore their world. The book ends with children thinking about what their own feet can do.

What a fun read about all sorts of animal feet and why they are as they are. The illustrations will draw toddlers' attention. The simple text will help them learn fun facts about animal feet.i.e. "A polar bear's feet spread wide to keep it from sinking into the snow."

I love this style of illustration and I think this would be a heckin good storytime book for a lot of levels. Younger groups can skip the animal facts and older groups can act out the things the feet do to get their wiggles out.

3.75-4 - I appreciate any book that can be read on two levels, on for younger listeners and one for older (or for shorter/longer attention spans) and this book does that perfectly. Visually clean and bright - pair it with the Foot Book and New Socks for a great lapsit storytime.

Board book for the toddler that likes to move! Give them the opportunity to practice their fine motor skills as they try to move their feet like the 10+ animals move their feet in So Many Feet.
