Bull by the Horns Reviews
This story put a smile on my face. Blake and Mitch are just too cute together, and despite all the misunderstandings (most of them self-inflicted) and drama (most of it caused by a jealous waiter), they manage to fall in love and figure out how to live as a couple. We actually get to see them as such at the very beginning, when they prepare for Mitch's brother's wedding (see Tucker and Keith's story in book one). Only after that initial scene does the story go into how they first met.Blake is a beautician, but prefers to do manicures, so that's what he focuses on in the salon he owns with his best friend, Marissa, who likes to do the haircuts. Blake is a little shy, likes being alone (or so he thinks), and cannot believe a gorgeous guy like Mitch could be interested in him. And even once Mitch makes it clear that he is definitely interested, Blake remains suspicious, ready to assume the worst at every turn. No wonder he falls for the jealous waiter's ruse!Mitch is a firefighter, tall and handsome, but deep-down he is also looking for love. He saves Blake from an embarrassing situation and loves dating him despite all Blake's insecurities. He is afraid that Blake doesn’t want him around too much, since the man keeps insisting he is a loner. Not realizing Blake just uses that to protect himself from disappointment (yes, the idiot!), Mitch pulls back a little, but even he cannot believe how angry Blake gets over (what Mitch thinks is) nothing. If you like men who fall for each other right away, then start to figure out what they really want from a partner, if you enjoy stories with some mini-dramas and lots of repeats of "I told you so" from friends who saw the issues coming, and if you're looking for an entertaining, sweet read with a tiny touch of angst, then you will probably like this short story.NOTE: This book was provided by Changeling Press for the purpose of a review on Rainbow Book Reviews.
It was the second short story I read from this author and I must say I'm more pleased with this one. I liked that the MCs were into safe sex.
