Dangerous Dreams Reviews
Dangerous Dreams was, to me, all about connections. The complex connection between victim and perpetrator, between hunter and prey, mortal and not. About sinew, muscle and bone. The things that hold us together, and tear us apart. I found myself laughing at a joke about pigeon poop one moment, then cringing in empathy the next. Smoky, sensual and disturbing, these poems will transport you to another place -- one populated with demons, vampires and all your bad dreams brought to life
This is a dark and seductive collection of poetry paired with equally haunting images. "The Vision on the Stairs" is a familiar tale with an eerie twist. To me, many of the works depicted a range of the sinister side of femininity, as well as a deep caring, like in "The Moon and her Children." I enjoyed them all and recommend this if you're a fan of poetry.
Dangerous Dreams is two books in the shape of one: graceful art and raw, beautiful poetry bearing witness to ghosts, demons, and redemption through revenge and strange magic. There is danger here, weaved in taunting words and art made of sharp things, madness and dark light, seamlessly gathered by Marge Simon and Sandy DeLuca.
Poetic slices of death, macabre and mischief illustrated by Marge Simpson. Both are highly respected leader's of their finally crafted work's.
