When one of his siblings proposes reviving their game of Truth or Dare, Mischa revolts. Instead, they all agree to share a truth, and Mischa has to decide how much of his domestic situation to share with his family. The frantic pace of life is overwhelming, and Mischa has begun to let things slide. With the holidays just around the corner, he figures his current situation is a temporary thing. When he misses one of his son's soccer games that Donovan left work early to attend, time runs out. Upset by the hurt in their son's eyes, Donovan decides that something must be done. He's worried that he's pushed Mischa into doing things at the wrong time, pushed his dreams on his young lover, just pushed too hard for too much in general. In a desperate attempt to get Mischa to think about what he wants instead of what Donovan wants, Donovan issues an ultimatum. He sends Mischa away with orders to think about his priorities....

It was so nice to revisit Mischa and Donovan since they started the 'Truth or Dare' series. Even though I had glimpses of them in the previous books, it was refreshing to see them three years later and to find out how everything was going. As in most families, there always has to be give and take, but lately Mischa feels like he's giving and everyone else is taking. He's a student, a parent, an assistant to his brother, and a partner to Donovan. Mischa is run ragged and just doesn't know where it's going to stop.Donovan feels like he's losing Mischa. With so much on his plate, what twenty-four-year-old would want a middle-aged lover and a special needs preteen, plus his schooling, the housework, the cooking, etc. (Of course, my woman's brain was screaming "jeez, Donovan, you could start a load of laundry, too, you know") So, when Mischa misses Matt's soccer game, Donovan gives him the weekend away from them to figure out if the life they have is what Mischa really wants. (Personally, I thought Mischa should have hit Donovan for giving him an ultimatum.)I really enjoyed the story, because I loved watching the brothers band together behind Mischa, but more importantly, Donovan's idea of Mischa going away for the weekend to "think" showed Donovan exactly what Mischa deals with day in and day out caring for a special needs child and everything in the house. And, oh, watching Donovan eat crow at the end of just one day brought a great, big smile to my face! HA! Thank you, Lee, for the reminder that a house husband doesn't sit around eating bonbons all day. But, Donovan and Mischa, together, figured out the best way to take their partnership and their family into the future and keep everyone healthy, happy, and safe. And all in time for Christmas. Well done, Lee!NOTE: This book was provided by Breathless Press for the purpose of a review on Rainbow Book Reviews.

3.5 stars. I don't know what it is about this series, but I love the Blake brothers. I was actually excited to see Mischa again, but was extremely disappointed in Donovan. It was very aggravating to see Donovan whining over the housework not getting done when all he basically does is work. Mischa, on the other hand, has to take care of all the house chores, be a nanny/soccer dad/caretaker to Matt, all while working on getting the Foundation up and running and going to school. Apparently, Donovan is incapable of doing even so much as a load of laundry. So, Donovan basically gives Mischa an ultimatum when he tells him to take the weekend away to decide if he really wants to be with him and Matt. There was just so much about this situation that drove me nuts but I still love the characters. They finally do come to some understandings and seem to work things out There are a few hints that things aren't so hunky dorey with a few of the others which, of course, makes me want the next installment to see if things are ok for them. As usual, the rest of the Blake clan is involved and ever so supportive of each other, so keep them coming, please. :D

Yea! Happy ending. I really like Mischa in this story. His love for Donovan and Matt comes through loud and clear. As usual, I want more! (what's up with Dex?) :)

Donovan’s Deal (Truth or Dare #6) by Lee Brazil* I received this ARC free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review*Truth or Dare is one of my favorite series that features m/m romance; the stories are the epitome of what romance is. The characters are compelling and full of depth, while still having flaws that shows that they deserve to be loved too, no matter what sex they are.I have to admit that Mischa and Donovan’s story in the series has always been my favorite so I was delighted to get a Christmas short story featuring the couple (I know it’s almost June). Mischa showed up on Donovan’s door step answering a job ad, one that he was not qualified for I might add and Donovan took a chance on him and love. Now they have been together for a while and they have settled into a routine but things are far from perfect. Both of the guys work too hard and things are not good at home. Donovan spends too much time working because he can’t tell his boss no and Mischa is overloading himself to finish school this semester. Their home is neglected but worse than that, they are neglecting each other. Donovan is afraid Mischa is missing out on his youth and decides to set him free, at least for the weekend; if he comes back he’s his to keep – right? It takes an unfortunate incident for them to realize that they both need to make some changes in their lives and relationship if they are going to make it work. Donovan has to realize that this isn’t the 1960’s and that it’s ok for Mischa to help with the household finances. Mischa needs to quit holding everything in and talk to Donovan when they have issues, not run and hide from the problem because it only gets worse.Even though this was a short story, it didn’t lack any in content; we got to see the other Blake brother’s that we have grown to love throughout the series. The author is killing me because he left a teaser at the end of the story and I am ready for the next book RIGHT NOW!!!!! Overall I loved Donovan’s Deal and give it 4 Flaming Hearts.

Reviewed for Hearts On Fire ReviewsOh, Donovan, you clueless, selfish man. Your caveman attitude is forgiven only because I realize you have no background with which to compare what a happy family is like. This antiquated notion of you “being the man” would be ridiculous enough if you had a wife, but you have a husband. That idea, that you act as if Mischa is your housekeeper, caretaker for a special needs child, laundry service, etc, and then blame it on him being young and not ready for a family? Oh, while he also runs the non-profit foundation and takes a full load of classes at college? Hmmm, you need an attitude adjustment. Thankfully, your own ultimatum forces you to get one. Mischa is my favorite of the Blake brothers and I was so sad for him. Particularly in light of the fact that some of the things that Donovan is mad about (missing one soccer game, for example), Donovan has done many times and Mischa is always the one to explain to their son Matt where he is and make excuses. When Donovan issues his ultimatum then has sex with Mischa before forcing him to sleep in the office, OMG! Let’s smack him! I loved that Mischa finally puts his cards on the table, I love you and this is what we are going to do. Donovan has one weekend (not even the whole thing) as he realizes just how much Mischa does, without complaint or being a baby about it. I also appreciated the comparison to Mischa’s parents, because that more than anything showed Donovan what he was doing. These two love each other and want to make it work and they will. Now we need to find out what the hell is going on with Dex/John and what is Danny’s big thing going on?

I loved this return to Misha and Donavon, Misha's book (the first one) remains my favourite in the series! Misha and Donavan faced some problems and admittedly I was on Misha's side in this and thought Donovan was being unfair in his judgement and actions, thankfully Donavan realised that, but it was almost too late as he had health problems that could have been a lot more serious! The book hinted at problems in a couple of other camps which suggest to me that maybe a couple of the other brothers will be revisited too! Terry for one as there seemed to be some issues that need resolved in their household and I wonder at Bella being pregnant in the book, is it her own or is she playing surrogate for Terry and his partners again, that wasn't clarified in the story, it only mentioned her being pregnant! The ending strongly hinted at Dan getting another book as well considering another brother mentioned problems in their household but didn't elaborate, plus Dan said he had something planned that he'd hoped their father would be there for but that Brandon (being the only father he's ever known) would do perfectly for what he had in mind! We'll have to wait and see though!

This series has for some unknown reason grabbed me. And now I'm waiting for the next one. Not that this one was a cliff hanger, definitely not. Lee Brazil knows how to wrap things up neatly to end a book. But!...yes, but! Hinting at problems at the other brother's houses, relationships that are strained etc, leave me needing to know that all will be well. So, I'm sitting here waiting...waiting...waiting. Never said I was patient lol.

Mischa and Donovan are my favorites from the Truth or Dare series. I was so excited that Donovan’s Deal featured them. I must say, at one point I was a little worried, but then very glad the way the story ended. And it looks like there are things going on with some of the other Blake brothers, so I can’t wait to read what’s next in this series.

Donovan is worried that Mischa is distancing himself from him and Matt and will leave him. He gives a time away request that backfires when he has a heart attack. His fears were groundless and he and Mischa work things out which were just pipe dreams and not important in the end.

I liked the follow up with Mischa and Donovan. I'm left wondering though what is up with Danny?
