Capri takes readers on their second adventure alongside FBI Agents Otto and Gaspar, as they search for the elusive Jack Reacher. Following up on a lead, they head into the hamlet of New Hope, aptly named, where Reacher is said to have been seen. When they arrive, it is as barren as can be. When local police thank them for answering a call surrounding a motor vehicle accident, things take a turn for all involved. What looks like a simple head-on collision soon turns into a hot trail to find the gridless Reacher. But how does he play into all of this and why is another man left dead and a woman beaten? Otto and Gaspar must piece it together, or face another dead end.Capri has piqued my interest to read Child's entire REACHER series. Who is this man and why does he live so secretively? What is the significance of 1997 and where will be appear next? Capri weaves great teasers in her short stories, choosing the other side of the coin, the FBI, to depict some of the happenings in the larger Reacher story. I would expect readers of the series will revel in these little tales and newbies, like me, will find an interest in what the hype is all about.Kudos Madam Capri for a second great teaser. I am eager to see what it's all about and more about Reacher, Gaspar, as well as the mysterious Otto.

Too short but this is after effects of Reacher vs road rage. All the traffic here leads to wanting more in the search. Just now appearing in New Hope where will Otto and Gaspar proceed next?

Title: Jack and Kill (Hunt for Jack Reacher Series #3 A Short Story)Author: Diane CapriPages: 90Year: 2014Publisher: AugustBooksMy rating is 5 out of 5 stars.Audiences will continue to enjoy the suspense filled story of two FBI agents attempting to build a file on a ghost. Not literally a ghost, but a man who can’t be found usually until he has already been there or people warning them off of their attempt to find Reacher. Now Otto and Gaspar are on the road going to locate those who knew Reacher when he was an MP in the army. However, when they get to a small town they come upon what at first looks like a fatal car accident. They pull aside to see if it is Reacher under cover on the road, but what they discover has deeper ramifications along with a nationwide manhunt as they weren’t aware of being off the grid themselves. Many questions remain as to who Reacher is, who wants them to build the file about the man and why. Along with what will happen to the agents should they continue on their task no one is supposed to know they are on, but somehow do! Keep reading the novels and short stories to enjoy the mystery, suspense and characters in the Hunt for Reacher Series!

49 pages. Just a continuation of Kim Otto and Carlos Caspar trying to find Reacher. They go to New Hope, VA when they come upon a rear-end fender bender where an angry man in a pick-up truck gets out of his vehicle and pulls the women out of the car, pulls a rifle out and tries to beat her. Reacher is in the back seat as a hitchhiker and gets out, head butts him. The guy falls, hits his head on the concrete and dies. Reacher just starts walking away from the scene and out of the grips of Otto and Caspar. 7 Stars (9.21 to 9.25.17)

I thought the previous book in this series was short, but this one was even shorter, about half the length of the previous one. Otto and Gaspar learn that Reacher helped a damsel in distress, but they learn little more about him. Or about Susan Duffy, who claimed to be DEA in the previous book, but now is referred to as an ATF agent, and her role in their assignment, if she has one.

Another short story on FBI's hunt for Jack Reacher. Each short story (yes less than 100 pages) provides a little more into the mystery of Jack Reacher. What is cool about this line of Jack Reacher is that Lee Child supports her ideas. Will the truth ever come out?

A short story with too many threads left hanging. Poor character development.

Just a glimpse of Jack Reacher, apart from that, there is nothing much to write a review for this book.

Disjointed to the point of being random. I enjoyed the two main characters in the first two episodes of this series, but they are wasted in this episode.

Parts 2 and 3 of Hunt for Reacher don't amount to a whole lot, but with part 1 they get 4*--otherwise 2-3 on their own.

JACK AND KILL was the second short story in the Hunt for Reacher series. Again it was a very quick read. Even though these short stories were published after DON'T KNOW JACK, I think I might have enjoyed the series a little more reading these short stories first. They seemed to hook me more which then I would have read the full length novel. Having said that, I am not really sure. I am probably more confused now. Don't get me wrong these were good for short stories and getting readers hooked but why not a full length second novel. This did create more questions for me then I have answers. Once again, good read but a little disappointing.Rating: 3Reviewed by: KellyR,My Book Addiction Reviews

Five stars for the second short story in The Hunt For Reacher.' I recorded this audiobook in one sitting - I couldn't stop telling the tale. Diane uses the device of the short story not only to capture a moment but to also forward 'The Hunt' that FBI Special Agents Otto and Gaspar are on for the ignoble Jack Reacher. I also felt with this story - which is absolutely spine-tingling - I got to know Jack Reacher in a different light, in a new way. Diane reels out the story at a constant pace that is excruciating - you don't want to hear, but you can't stop listening. Don't shy away because it's a short story. You'll love this tale. And it is a completely different approach to this concise format from' Jack in a Box' The Hunt For Reacher Short Story #1. Happy Listening!

Kim Otto and Carlos Gaspar are back in a second short story in the Hunt For Reacher series. Operatinf under the radar to complete their assigned task of getting information on Jack Reacher, Otto and Gaspar are headed to the town of New Hope. Once there, what appears to be a basic traffic accident turns into more than what they expected.Diane Capri has done a wonderful job creating a secondary storyline to Lee Childs' Jack Reacher series. Look forward to another full length novel in this series.

It really is a 2.5 star story, for me. Even though these books are short, sometimes it is all I can do to get through them. Maybe it is just me. I am not getting why they are on the hunt and why nobody seems to be helping them. But a quick glance at Jack Reacher is better than no glance at all. The first two were library loans and the rest of them I bought. So my somewhat delight, might be short lived. Not jumping into book three for awhile though.

I am now enjoying this series more as the author has dispensed with the constant background information about each character. Okay, we know them now, and the story flows much better without the bogging down. It is entertaining to experience the opinions of Jack Reacher changing as the FBI detectives learn more about him. Makes me chuckle.

I have mixed feelings about this short story - one that it was a short story instead of a full book. I felt like I was missing so much information to make everything make sense. I am glad that Otto is seeing another side of Reacher, but just too much missing. I usually give Ms. Capri's books a four or five star rating, so I feel bad giving this one a three!

Book 2 and 3 in this series are not books, but can be read in less than an hour! What is more is that nothing really happens in the short number of pages that there are, though I will say that #3 had slightly more to it than Jack in the Box. II feel conned and cheated to have paid for these 'books'.

FBI agents Kim Otto and Carlos Gaspar are still in search of Jack Reacher when personal matters lead them astray for a bit. Once back on the trail they stumble upon a road rage/kidnapping in progress. Hoping not to get involved they find that Reacher has already been there.Fast and fun if you are a Reacher fan. (or, even if you aren't one yet!)

Real too short! well for me every books related to Jack Reacher are too shorts but this one was good so two short nights and done! Diane Capri keep her focus and keep Reacher way under her two main characters who almost continue to think that Reacher is a bad guy but the plot was good! Thanks to the author for sharing with us!

I enjoyed the tie-ins to characters from a couple of Lee Child's Jack Reacher books. Waiting for glimpses of Jack Reacher through the eyes of Agents Otto and Gaspar is slow going and a little frustrating--but these characters are interesting, and their story is worth reading for its own merit. I enjoyed the short novella format.
