The author, Allison Samuels, took an unique approach to passing on wisdom to young ladies. There is so much wisdom in this book that I wished I had learned earlier in life. This book could serve as a great tool for moms to use with their daughters. Although I say young ladies, I believe the earlier you get this wisdom the better but this book is not limited to a certain age. Men could find this book useful as well if they are involved with a woman who has a strong demeanor or if he is raising a young girl.. This book was easy to read...a delight and one that I have ordered to pass onto my 24 year old daughter who is now serving her county in the military. Many of words of wisdom shared in this boo will help my daughter through what would be challening without the reading of this book. Without reservation, I strongly recommend this book as a great read.

What would Michelle Do?Though Michelle Obama has had many books published about her over the past few years, this newly crafted book by journalist Allison Samuels What Would Michelle Do? succeeds by telling the story without the bias found in many of Michelle's "biographies". Furthermore, many political novels can be tedious reads, but Allison Samuel's manages to present the First Lady's life and success with a writing style that is witty, interesting, and above all memorable. This is a book that women of all ages can enjoy, and one that answers many of the questions about how Michelle Obama manages to do EVERYTHING so well, with seemingly no difficult. Whether its discussing fashion, her family, or her busy work schedule, a reader gets the feeling that Michelle is a very relatable, funny, and enjoyable person. I would definitely recommend this book for any fans of Michelle who are interested in seeing her life through the eyes of a qualitative third party. Definitely worth picking up!

One of the things that I miss most about being a bookseller is being able to recommend books to people with specific requests (not just a general "what's a good book to read?"). Aligning someone with the perfect book for their needs is very rewarding. What Would Michelle Do? is spot on for people looking for gifts to support young women on to the next phase of their lives as they graduate from high school or college. By using the example of Michelle Obama's life from childhood to adulthood, Samuels guides us through the major decisions that women have to make. Included are topics like self-esteem, enriching your education, making smart financial choices, building a wardrobe, and how to make a relationship work.By all means is this book only for young women. All women will be able to relate to something here.

This was not the book for me, but it probably is for someone. I love Michelle Obama, but I don't actually want to be Michelle Obama, which this book is a kind of guide for becoming. It's great advice for anyone who wants to be put-together in the style of Michelle, but I'm a happy wreck and I just enjoy Michelle for being herself and me for being me.

I'm giving this five stars because Michelle. That said, I don't think I was the right reader for this book. It would be perfect, however, for a young person about to start high school or leave for college.

While I'm curious about Michelle Obama and what makes her tick, this book was just full of speculation and beauty and self- esteem tips the likes of which you'd find in a women's magazine.

Like a series of articles from Seventeen or Glamour -- I think I'm not quite the demographic for this. Still fun enough that I didn't abandon it

A practical approach to successfully bring about change in many areas of life that were formerly perceived as "no-nos" in mixed company.
